Heterophobia

Performance Projects

Heterophobia is an urban musical for young people 13-18 years old.

It is a hybrid fusion of art forms and digital technology.  Heterophobia presents the struggle of one young heterosexual male, Ryan trying to ‘come out’ in a gay world, a binaristic sexuality switch of the privileged and the oppressed.

The findings from the recent Youth Chances Survey were very concerning, revealing that more than half of young gay people have suffered mental health issues and 40% have considered suicide.

The School Report by Stonewall revealed that homophobic bullying is still widespread in schools, 3 in 5 young people who experience homophobic bullying say that teachers who witness the bullying never intervene.
